Angry Augmented Reality Birds

Submitted by on Wednesday, 28 March 2012No Comment

augmented reality angry birdsAngry Birds has been everywhere.  In games, in movies, in space, somewhere around the house I even have an Angry Birds cuddly toy. Until recently the only untouched frontier where no Angry Bird had been was augmented reality, but that final frontier has fallen.

To launch the new Nokia Lumia smartphone in Australia, Nokia created the worlds first giant augmented reality game featuring those loveable characters from the hit Rovio game. The campaign involved a giant marker which enabled members of the public to interact with the characters by petting or kicking them. The results were shown on giant TV screen.

If Angry Birds wasn’t you thing then there was the opportunity to take part in a dance off with a virtual Timomatic who I am told is an Australian pop-star.

The campaign is pretty interesting whether or not you are a fan of the Angry Birds series.

Some people get to have all the fun. I would love the opportunity to kick an Angry Bird, in fact I think I am going to dig out that cuddly toy and give it a bit of attention.
