Germany’s First Augmented Reality Music Video

Followers of the blog will have seen a few media agencies blend augmented reality with promoting bands. AUGMEDIA in Germany are the latest agency to dabble and have produced Germany’s first augmented reality music video for the band, Saint Aside.

Being the latest in the AR music genre, AUGMEDIA have done a good job with creating an engaging music experience. But like all music its best experienced, so, kick back, turn up your speakers and watch the video.

Air Guitar Augmented Reality Style

Rockin' AR

You can’t beat a bit of air guitar. 3 beers and you’re up there with Led Zeplin, 4 beers and you’re the world’s best drummer. 5 beers and you’re the karaoke king.

Doing a bit of digging this morning, it looks like Disney are about to launch an augmented reality game called Concert Mayhem which is based around characters from the new I’m In The Band sitcom. The original concept for the game was developed by Seac02 and used in Italy as a marketing tool to launch the sitcom. The concept was users stand in front of a green screen, air guitar and they appear in the video. The game however has been adapted for online so shortly you’ll be able to give it a go.

There are no links to the game as yet, but careful digging around points to Disney’s XD site (disneyxd.disney.co.uk/stunt/iitb/) where they say Concert Madness is coming soon. Mid May was the latest date I found.

We can only speculate on what the game will be, but the website has profiles for a drummer, guitar and a singer, so I’m assuming these will be playable characters.

I’m sure Disney will be hitting the switch to make the game live very soon.

Rocking Augmented Reality Demo

This demo is probably one of the coolest augmented reality demos I have seen for sometime, you might even say it rocks.

There has been some attempts in the past to combine augmented reality with music videos but this one is the best by far. With the Lost Valentinos augmented reality demo you print the markers and decide how the music video will look. Each marker represents an individual member of the band so you can arrange them however you see fit, make you own stage and soundings and decide the action.

Once you have your perfect music video you can upload it to share with others at their website. The YouTube video below doesn’t do the demo any justice at all so be sure to visit lostvalentinos.com and watch the introduction there. The music is actually pretty cool as well.
